Research Interests

I am interested in studying human experiences as they relate to tourism, such as tourists’ motivation, attitude and behavior. However, tourists are not the only social agents in the tourism environment; a plethora of social agents involved in the tourism system should also be taken into consideration when we study human experience in tourism. In general, I would like to understand people and their perceptions of and interactions with the environment and each other in the context of tourism. Currently, I am investigating the relationship between authenticity and the urban tourism environment as portrayed in travel writings.
