Thesis: Representations of a man’s world? An examination of gender
stereotypes in Sunday comics

Thesis:
An investigation of motives and constraints on tourists’ intention
to engage in multidestination travel within one hour of Charleston
Research Interests
My current research seeks
to apply theories adapted from the fields
of consumer behavior, psychology, and persuasion
(e.g., narrative processing and narrative transportation theory)
to not only the study of travel and tourism but also,
more specifically, to the study of travel writing
(versus brochures) as a persuasive promotional tool.
In exploring the role of media and knowledge production,
I hope to further the understanding of tourism discourse
both in academia and in the tourism industry.
